Karachi, Pakistan – NIC (Pak), a non-profit organization (NPO) and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team of Pakistan (PKCERT), have formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 25th ITCN Asia event at the Karachi Expo Center, Pakistan.
This pivotal agreement, represented by Dr. Haider Abbas, Director General of PKCERT Pakistan, and Umer F. Pirzada, Director of NIC (Pak), marks a significant milestone in bolstering Pakistan’s cybersecurity framework and advancing digital inclusion across the nation.
Addressing Digital Disparities
Recognizing the disparities in digital access and skills across Pakistan, NIC (Pak) is dedicated to addressing these challenges through a variety of educational and training programs. These initiatives, including workshops and online courses in network management, cybersecurity, and emerging internet technologies, are specifically designed to bridge the digital divide. The aim is to create opportunities for youth in underdeveloped regions, ensuring that no part of Pakistan is left behind in the digital revolution.
Launch of Specialized Training Programs
NIC (Pak) is set to launch a series of specialized training programs in collaboration with esteemed international organizations such as APNIC, IANA, and ICANN. These programs will focus on enhancing the digital skills of Pakistan’s youth, with a special emphasis on network management, cybersecurity, and global internet infrastructure. Participants will benefit from internationally recognized certifications, providing them with the credentials needed to compete in the global digital economy.
